KEMET Corporation Set to Join S&P SmallCap 600 Index


GREENVILLE, S.C., Sept. 28, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- KEMET Corporation (NYSE:KEM), a leading global supplier of passive electronic components, announced today that it is set to join the S&P SmallCap 600 index effective prior to the opening of trading on Monday, October 2. KEMET will be added to the S&P SmallCap 600 Electronic Manufacturing Services GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) sub-Industry index.

The S&P SmallCap 600 is an index offered by S&P Dow Jones Indices that is designed to measure the small-cap segment of the U.S. equity market (market capitalization of $450 million to $2.1 billion). The index has criteria that stocks must meet to become components of the index, with the goal of ensuring that any company in the index is financially viable and has sufficient stock liquidity to allow index funds to invest in the stock.
